Ethel "SAM" Hanselman

Sam attended a family reunion in Lancaster
on November 18th, 2001
looking pretty darn good at 82!

A few years later, she attended a mosaic workshop
given by Jackie Lagakos where she made
this seashell frame for a mirror.

Sam's Little Helper...

Baby Girl, the art cat and faithful companion of Sam.
As of 2016, Baby Girl is still around...

Baby Girl loved getting in the box of
ripped tissue paper while Sam worked
on her latest collage.

...or just hanging out on the dining room table
while Sam decided what she was going to do next.

Ethel "SAM" Hanselman began painting with tissue paper
at the ripe old age of 88.
After her passing in 2011, one of her creations
was featured on a 2014 calendar.

Many of the collages here are now in the homes
of Sam's friends but some are still available
both framed and unframed for the asking.

This one is entitled Calvary.

This piece entitled Pterodactyl won her
second place in a county art show in 2010.

"Reticulated CAT"

Her son Ron named each piece for her.
Emily Cohen, a good friend, framed over twenty
pieces of hers for a debut showing
of her work at ZuZu Gallery in 2009.
